Young Pharaoh leaned over the edge of the boat, hoping to taste some of the caramel river. Sticking his hand into the syrup, he was unprepared for the sheer viscosity and was pulled overboard by Mother Gaia's mucilaginous tributary.

Pharaoh's father clamoured over the chests of linens, calling out in vain to his rapidly caramelizing son. It was of no use. By the time he had reached the ship's edge, young Pharaoh was no longer visible, having been claimed by the very same river he had been baptized in.

Pharaoh sunk to the bottom and waited.
